Hon'ble Justice T.L.Venkatarama Iyer

Hon’ble Justice T.L.VenkataramaIyer hails from Harikesanallur, Tirunelveli District, Tamilnadu and belongs to a rich lineage of traditional wisdom, piety, charity and dedication In his judicial service, he was known for his laudable traits of honesty, integrity, social empathy and worship of justice. After serving as a lawyer and judge in the High court of Madras till 1953, he became the Justice of Supreme Court of India. His judgments serve as axiomatic testimonials to his sagacity, ethical staunchness and insight as well as elements of humanitarian and social concern, while applying and interpreting law and rendering justice. His personal life also was equally enriched with wisdom quest, discipline, service and principle-modeling. In his illustrious tenure as the Chairman of Law Commission (1958-1961) his modifications and special enactments played an impactful role in making the legal framework more encompassing, unambiguous and effective.

Born in a family of tremendous musical fervor and expertise, which contributed unparalleled veterans like HarikesanallurMutthaiahBhagavatar, his musical talents in raga research, analysis, critical edition and compilation of scholarly and saintly compositions and musical formatting, training and tutelage of musical hymns were great sources of influence and transition in the vital phases of evolution of Carnatic music. Veteran musicians and conversant authorities on the field like M.S. Subbulakshmi and D.K. TLV FOUNDATION

The members of the trust comprise of relatives of the late Hon’ble Justice T.LV. The chief mentor of the trust is Prof: S.A.R.P.V.Chaturvedi. The motto of the trust is to recognize and nurture talented people in the fields of Law, Carnatic Music and Sanskrit.

OBJECTIVES OF THE TRUST

The trust is a product of the visionary zeal and dedication of the earnest members of the privileged dynasty, with an aim to serve the society through inculcation of applied wisdom, universal values and divine realization.

  1. To organize workshops, seminars, conferences and lectures for knowledge dissemination in the fields of arts, architecture, literature, human rights, law & jurisprudence and good governance.
  2. To recognize and reward conversant authorities and contributors in the prescribed fields with cash, memento, citation and awards for distinction, excellence and lifetime achievements.
  3. To encourage and promote learning, mastery, innovation and multi-versatility through scholarships, special sponsorships and awards for outstanding performances in the prescribed divisions.
  4. To provide instructional, financial and technical assistance to the needy and deserving students irrespective of caste and creed, pursuing studies and research in law, music, Sanskrit, religion, history and heritage.
  5. To establish and run well equipped training centers for academic and competitive success with a special focus on specialisation, in the disciplines of musicology, ethno-musicology, musicometry and musical therapy in the field of music; grammar, linguistics,
  6. phonetics, prosody, astrology, astronomy, philosophy, logics, hermeneutics and Vedic literature in the field of Sanskrit; victimology, penology, criminology, law and society, human rights, jurisprudence, ethical & effective advocacy and legal & judicial reforms in the field of law and justice.
  7. To publish research papers, news and course materials of the above mentioned faculties, in the forms of journals, syllabus and e-learning systems.
  8. To support, guide, affiliate and work with international, governmental and other charitable organizations with functional compatibility and similar objectives.
